FAQ

Q: Where do you find the time to bake all the time with 3 kids at home?

A: I don't. It might seem like  I bake and cook every day. But truth be told there are some days I can barely brew my own coffee! I tend to take a couple days a week to work on some sweet treats to share on the blog. Anything else that ends up here is probably a snack or dinner I was making for our family dinner anyways. I just happened to snap a few good photos of it before we dug in! Also... let me just say. I am a work at home mom. My blog being my part time job. Because I am home with the kids I have flexibility to work on Bakeaholic Mama 7 days a week.

Q: Do you eat EVERYTHING you make?

A: Yes and no.... I do eat a bit of what I make (sometimes all... it depends on the day and the dish!) I am a firm believer that you can have the butter... the sugar... the salt. All in moderation. If you practice healthy eating habits and lead an active lifestyle then it is OK to have those treats. But I won't lie to you.... if there are cookies, brownies, cheesecake, or.......... lets say potato salad (yes its true I love me some potato salad!) in this house when we go to bed... I'll wake up AT LEAST once to  sneak a bite. I have a midnight sweat tooth.

Q: What kind of camera do you use for you pictures?

A: I recently bought at Nikon D3100 and use a 18-55mm lens. I use natural lighting. You can always tell where I take the best pictures... either outside or in my daughters bedroom haha. Our home is kind of dark so I'm limited on good lighting. I am learning very slowly... if you look back at my older posts and compare... I'd like to think my photography is getting better!

Q: Where did you learn to cook and bake?

A: I watch a lot of Food Network! But to be honest I've always loved cooking. I used to help my mom a lot when I was little. Baking, canning and holiday cooking are some of my earliest memories with her. My Nana is also a big part of why I love food so much. At the age of 10 my Nana started buying me my own cookbooks. What 10 yr old likes cookbooks? I still have them too... one of them is my go too for all things chocolate..... thanks Nana <3

Q: What is your favorite thing to make?

A. Bacon. Just plain ol' fried bacon. 

Q: What is your favorite thing to eat?

A: Cheesecake, fudge brownies, chocolate chip cookies, bacon, beef jerky.... just to name a few ;)

Q: Can I use or adapt your recipes in my blog posts?

A: Yes you may, however I ask that you never copy and paste my words into your blog. Please re write in your own words.

Q: Can I use your photos?

A: No and Yes. No you can not unless you ask for permission. Shoot me an email at carrie@bakeaholicmama.com . I will normally give you permission.  

Q: Does it matter what brand ingredients I use?

A: If I specify in the recipe then yes it matters. Though if I just list "jarred sauce" or "bread crumbs" Use your personal favorites in that given recipe.

  1. Staying at home and baking for the kids is one of the enjoyments that career mothers miss. One of the challenges though that career mothers won't miss is getting the kids to eat their veggies.
