Stitch Fix #14 Review~ HELP I Need Advice!

It has been months since I have blogged about my Stitch Fixes. I have had some up and downs with my fixes, however once I found the right stylist (Margaret I LOVE you!) my fixes have been full of keepers! Today I figured I'd do a quick post to review my recent fix and also to gather some opinions.... I am torn on what to keep..... and I can't keep them all, I am on a budget this month thanks to some recent damage I did at Loft!

First item in my fix....

* Pomelo Abi Colorblock Maxi Dress.... This dress went on like a glove. I think it fits better than anything I own..... not super crazy about the navy, though I do love that green.... did I mention how well it fits?!!?! My bum, hips... whole package looked better than normal. Problem though... price tag is $88.  I feel like I could find the same thing at Marshalls for $29.99.... What do YOU think?

Item #2....

* THML Candace Racerback Striped Knit Dress. Love this dress, not as flattering as dress #2 but just as comfy. The price is easier to swallow as well at $44. This I think is a keeper for sure.

Item #3.....

* Kut From The Kloth Jenna Bermuda Shorts, these fit great... but I'm not crazy about the length and I also feel so strange in colored pants/shorts. The price is a bit high as well at $68. I'd rather go to Old Navy and snag a pair there for $20. Summer only lasts 3 months where I live.... so summer clothes need to be affordable!

Item #4.....

THML Gloria Colorblock & Abstract Print Hi-Lo Tank. Just not loving it. The colors, print, cut... just ehhh. Price wasn't too bad though at $48.

Item #5....

Daniel Rainn Daria Scarf Print Cross-Front Blouse. I do like this top, though a few Instagram followers did not love it on me. The price is also WAY higher than what I like to spend on tops, $74.

Over all I was super happy with this fix, loving the greens in the mix. It's the most flattering color for my skin/hair/eyes.  Let me know what you think... especially on those two dresses!!

  1. I vote to keep the two dresses - the long one is gorgeous and makes a statement. The short one is comfy and you like it. Ditch the bermudas and if you can afford it, toss a coin/pick one top.

  2. I vote for the first dress. You're right, it fits like a glove. I wish I could rock a long dress, but, unfortunately, I'm way too short.

  3. I love both of the dresses. I agree...I think you could find some colored shorts way cheaper than the ones pictured. And the tops could probably be found for cheaper too. But the maxi dress looks so great on you (I actually really like the navy!), and I'm always willing to pay more for something that fits great and is ultra comfy. That looks like a dress I would live in!

  4. I'm on team keep the first dress even if it means sending the rest of the stuff back. It is GORGEOUS! You look amazing in it :)

  5. Love the long dress, don't think the short one is at all flattering to your figure. You can stretch the maxi into other seasons too with cardis and jackets. If you don't love the other pieces, turf 'em. Why spend that much on something you could get elsewhere and feel better about?

    1. I second all of that. Love the first dress, really not a fan of the second. I'm hesitant to criticize but I assume you posted the pics for an honest opinion. My opinion is the second dress is too short and makes you look boxy, which you are so obviously not.

    2. Shannon, thanks for the honest feedback!! I do not want to look boxy haha.

  6. Definitely keep the first dress, you look amazing in it! I'm not a huge fan of the second dress, but if you think it's comfortable then by all means, go for it. You're right about the bermudas, you could definitely find it somewhere else for less. I actually really like the hi-low tank on you, you look great in the pattern and color! I'd say ditch the blouse (a bit pricey and I'm not loving the cut) and get the other top.

  7. Love the first dress and the bermudas! I agree with your IG followers -- you have a hot bod and that last shirt doesn't flatter it.

  8. Keep the first dress! I agree with Rachel Cooks- you have a great body type and the last shirt doesn't do it justice. I like the other top though :)

  9. The maxi is fantastic, Carrie! I'd keep that one, even if it meant not keeping the other dress. Second choice is the racerback dress, crazy cute on you. I wouldn't keep either of the shirts though. They aren't doing you any favors and you are super cute, sister. (You can definitely pick up cute colored shorts for WAY cheaper too!) What a great fix. I love love love that navy blue with the green!

  10. I'm a blue jean and comfy shirt kinda of girl. Hate dressing up and only do when I have to. If you're on a tight budget this month, forget new clothes and wait it out. Save your money for another time. Besides if you don't absolutely LOVE it, it will probably just hang in the closet. Now, what'cha making for dinner?

    1. I'm not really that tight... I just give myself X amount each month for my clothing addiction. I'll just cut July's shopping back a tad. I'm a jeans and comfy skirt kinda girl too.... but I do love to dress up when I get the chance. Now for dinner? Nothing fancy haha... frozen veggie burgers. The husband is working late...

  11. Oh, boy. Old honest Julie here. Ok. Love the first dress, but it's a tad too long. Can you shorten it? Maybe with some heels (were you barefoot?). Basically, I'd kill myself in it by tripping, but I'm sure you are more coordinated than I am. Not as crazy about the second dress, but that's just me. It looks a bit like something that goes over a swim suit. Love the shorts color, but I'm with you--odd length. My grandmother used to call those pedal pushers and had a ton of them. The last shirt makes your tummy look poochy, and you lose your pretty figure. Well, I sound like Mrs. Critical, I don't mean to. That's what happens when someone asks for an honest opinion. I do love the first dress! Oh, and if you don't like the one top, don't keep it, even if it is cheaper. Well, that opinion was worth what you paid for! haha

  12. Love the top dress, Its fabulous with your shape and that is worth money! Hopefully the material is such that well wash and dry well and not shrink. The second dress is cute, summer, but the top one is better. I love colored capris, if you are new to them, you'll be surprised with how much you like them. Lots of color tops go with that color. Length is fine on you too, I'm 5'4" and capris are often almost to my ankles. The other two items send back.

  13. Love long dress and capri shorts. Not so crazy about short dress

  14. My favorite item was the first dress even though it looked too long on you. However, I'm sure you can shorten it. I also liked the color on the Bermuda shorts, but wasn't fan of the length.

  15. Love the first dress, have one almost identical in navy/teal/white. You inspired me to try the service out. Just signed up and have my first order coming mid-July. Can't wait!!

  16. Keep the first dress and send the second one back!

  17. Love the dresses, the rest? Not as much....I do think you could find a Maxi find it at TjMaxx for $25 though!

  18. I absolutely LOVE the maxi dress on you! You are gorgeous girl. $88 is well-worth that! I am not as crazy about the print/style of the others (tops and shorts)...you could save there. I say keep both dresses!!

  19. The maxi is actually my favorite, but I agree that many of those items you could probably find something similar for less. That's the problem I sometimes have with stitchfix but I still love it cause I've always found at least one piece that was just right style and price!
