Orange Creamsicle Whoopie Pies... 3 Ingredients... THREE PEOPLE THREE

I'm so excited about this little creation I just whipped up today. SO excited. I just had to share it with you right away.

Can you tell it is a rainy day with nothing better to do than blog?

This recipe my friends is against all things I believe baking to be.

But I just couldn't help it.

It's genius really.

I've seen recipes floating around blogsphere that use 2 or 3 ingredients to create, cookies, brownies, and cakes but never whoopie pies. I had to jump on the bloggy train and try these simple non recipe, recipes out.

These have only  3 ingredients.

People did you read that.....THREEEEEEE!!

All 3 just so happen to be something I vow to never buy. When I do I cringe a little on the inside.... in a minute you'll see why. In fact I think I have even talked about my dislike for these 3 ingredients before.

I know you are all dying to know what the three are so here... I will let you in on my secret.

Orange Creamsicle Whoopie Pies

Ingredients:
1 box vanilla cake mix
1 cup of orange soda
1 container of cool whip

Directions:

In a bowl mix cake mix and soda together.

Drop into 1 tbs heaps onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Let cool and with a spatula remove from cookie sheet.

On the bottom of one cookie dollop 1-2 tbs of cool whip in the center.

Top with a 2nd cookie.

Store in the refrigerator.

*** These are so good just like this BUT you can up the orange flavor if you'd like by adding 1 tsp of orange extract into the cake mix.

*** Another blogger friend tried these last night with a Gluten Free Cake mix... it did not work. So those of you that use a gluten free mix... I wouldn't try this one at home! And after some more thought after talking with the other blogger, I strongly suggest if you want an extra orange flavor... use a tsp of orange extract.

Now I have half a bottle of soda to dump down the drain. I swear it's the devil. But so worth buying so I could make these easy peasy whoopie pies

  17. I'm REALLY okay with a three ingredient dessert. Even four ingredients is good! We love orange soda here, so none of it will be going down the drain! Great summer day treat!

    1. Oh you can do it easily! Use a white cake mix with a bottle of sprite instead of orange soda.... THEN blue food coloring.

  19. Could you maybe 1 1/2 times the orange extract and use carbonated water, instead of orange soda?

  21. I would make them with Orange and Cream A&W instead, but still this is a great idea. Thanks a lot.
