Kid Pleasing Stove Top Bacon Ranch Macaroni and Cheese

There are some nights the last thing I want to do is make supper for my family.

Is that awful?!

Though I absolutely love to cook and bake I feel like I LIVE in the kitchen. My two boys ages  three and five eat from the time they wake up until they go to bed. My mom said joking one day "what do they have a tape worm or something?!"

They seriously eat, and eat, and eat, and eat.

Little bottomless pits.

I fear for the day they are teenagers. I can't even begin to imagine how much food they will eat then!

For those days where I really do not want to step back into the kitchen. I like to whip up something simple and fast that I know will gobbled up so I can send my boys to bed with a fully tummy.

If you have a picky eater at home, or are one yourself. Give this mac n' cheese a try. I'm sure you'd love it.

Oh and you can even be sneak and hide some veggies in the creamy sauce!

Stove Top Bacon Ranch Mac N' Cheese

8oz of dry pasta (I use fun shapes for the kids)
5 slices of crispy bacon
8 oz of American cheese
8 oz sharp cheddar
3/4 a cup of milk (I used 1%)
3/4 a cup of buttermilk ranch salad dressing.

Boil and strain pasta according to box directions.

In a sauce pan combine dressing, cheese, and milk together. Constantly stir over medium heat until smooth.

Mix cooked pasta into cheese sauce and crumble your bacon into the pan. Stir until everything is mixed together.

Serve and enjoy!

  1. Oh this looks so creamy!!! Yumoh, Carrie!

  2. This looks so creamy and comforting! I'm with you, there are definitely lots of nights I don't feel like cooking. Love easy meals like this one for nights where I don't feel up to cooking a big meal.

  3. Yum, this looks so good and your pictures are getting even that even possible. I hate you - my blog stinks! But, I love having a fav blog to aspire to! Keep up the good recipes!

  4. nice Easy Recipe...thanks

  5. Is that correct, 8 oz of pasta and 16 ounces of cheese? I noticed on your other recipes that you usually have an equal pasta to cheese ratio.

    1. It should be one pound of dry pasta. That's a typo. Thanks for catching it!
