Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Did you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving?? I Sure did!

We were hosted this year. It was allot of fun.

We were lucky enough to have my Mother Inlaw, my husband's Aunt Cindy her 2 daughters and my husband's Grammy.

The food was great, the people were great, and I had a yummy bottle of bubbly. What could be better?

My Mother Inlaw was kind enough to sleep over after dinner so My husband Steve and I could do the big BLACK FRIDAY Midnight Madness.

Did the stores open at 12am where you live?

Oh MAN it was crazy! I have never been a Black Friday Shopper... but this year we were curious what the hoopla was all about.

We got some good deals... but I have to say NOT worth pulling an all nighter after I had just slaved for days in the kitchen and cleaning my house preparing for Thanksgiving.

I'm burnt out big time this morning..... I feel like I was up all night doing shots and keg stands.

But my hangover is not for drinking..... just pure sleeplessness.

Do you get like that with sleep deprivation?

I feel sick to my stomach, food sounds gross, pounding headache and no amount of coffee will help!!!

Anyways....... here's a quick recipe post while I'm home nursing my Black Friday Hangover!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:
1/2 cup milk chocolate pieces (or semi-sweet)
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup half and half.
1/4 tsp of peppermint extract

Directions:

In a sauce pan over med heat milk milk and chocolate together until melted and blended. Stir constantly be sure not let it burn or curdle. Mix in peppermint.

Add in half and half just before serving,

Top with a dollop of freshly whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

  1. Carrie,
I get the same way from sleeplessness!

I've been admiring this delicious photo & am going to concoct a white chocolate version for myself to enjoy. Repeatedly. All season long. Have you ever had white hot chocolate? Ahhh, like mother's milk for grown ups.

So glad you had a happy holiday!

  12. I've shopped Black Friday in the past, but now I happily catch whatever deals are available online on Friday. I doubt I'll head out in the madness like that again anytime soon!

This hot chocolate is beautiful. I like to add a mini candy cane to mine for a fun peppermint flavor as well.
