Peanut Butter Honey Cereal Bars

Yes I'm still here! Almost 41 weeks pregnant what the heck Miss Madelyn needs to grace us with her presence soon!!

This is a great quick easy snack to make for the kids.... or even a treat for breakfast??  They will love it... and its a much healthier alternative to the traditional Rice Crispy Treat.

Peanut Butter Honey Cereal Bars
Ingredients:
6 cups Cheerios
1 cup of honey
1 cup of peanut butter
1/3 of a cup sugar

Directions:

In a sauce pan combine honey and sugar together.

Bring up to a boil stirring constantly till all the sugar is dissolved.

holy cow a cup of honey... it's allot!

Remove from heat.

Mix in peanut butter.

In a very large mixing bowl take 6 cups of cereal and fold in peanut butter honey mixture till all cereal is evenly coated.

Line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper.

Press cereal mixture into the pan.

Refrigerate 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Perfect peanut buttery goodness!

That must be served with a tall glass of ice cold milk.......

  1. Carrie,
I just need a smidge more honey before I can give this recipe a go! (I'm a sucker for Cheerios, I could eat a handful for dessert.)

Sounds like you have a baby girl who does things in her own time. Telling of what kind of woman she'll grow up to be :)

    Cheers!

  3. I'm thinking substitute PB2 for the peanut butter and then they will be almost guilt free...yummo!

  4. These were delicious! I made them with a little less sugar than you did and I added about 1/4 cup of granola as well! It was awesome
