Best Ever Fudge Brownies

Some days you just want a brownie... nothing fancy just a straight up brownie. Or at least I do....

Often!

One of my favorite things to do since I was a kid is to take my brownie in a bowl and dump cold milk on top. Then eat.

Does anyone else do this?

Or am I totally strange?

My husband thinks I'm strange the couple of times he has seen me do this.

Fudge Brownies:
Ingredients:
2 ounces unsweetened bakers chocolate chopped
3/4 of a cup of butter
1/4 cup + 2 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1/4 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9 in square pan with foil and lightly grease.

In a sauce pan over medium heat stir butter and the 2 ounces of chocolate together till melted.

Remove from heat.

In a medium mixing bowl mix flour cocoa together.

In a separate bowl beat sugar and eggs together till yellow and combined.

Beat in melted chocolate and butter.

Fold in flower/cocoa mixture.  Add in vanilla, chocolate chips, and nuts.

Careful not to over incorporate. It's OK if you have a few little lumps here and there.

Bake for about 30-40 minutes. The edges should be set and cooked... when tooth pic is inserted it should come out almost clean... a little gooey still. Let it cool at room temp for at least an hour before removing foil from pan and cutting into bars. I find that wiping your knife down with each slice keeps a nice clean cut.

Serve with milk of course!

  1. I'll take a fudgy brownie over a cakey one anyday! These look delicious.

Another great way to slice them with an even cut is with a pizza slicer! That tip changed my life (& the pizza slicer's too, for that matter.) haha

    Cheers!

  5. Yummy! I cannot seem to have enough recipes for fudge brownies. This right here is soul food. Nothing like a brownie to pick up your spirits. And as for milk over brownies, nobody has any problem with dunking their cookies in milk..so why be hating the poor brownie..Show them some love! :)

  7. Milk with anything baked and chocolatey is the way to go! My husband has no idea how good it is to drench a brownie in milk. It's the best! Last night he was looking at this post and goes "thats just gross!"
